I love a good bookcase. They are the most fun way to give your home a personality and house all of those little quirky things that reflect you. However, they're also the easiest way to collect junk- and no one likes a hoarder! I can say that because... well I kind of am one.

Swapping out your shelf decor is an easy way to update your space. You'd be amazed how much a room can change just by swapping a green stack of books for a black stack; or by trading out your favorite little figurine for a framed photo. The best rule of thumb when adding to your bookcase is to add and then edit. Create a color story for each shelf and stick to it.

Remember, you don't have to have everything on display all at once. When it comes to styling your space- less is more. Keeping things simple really allows you and your guests to see each individual item and appreciate it.
